Our Little Story
Ukunda Bright Angels Academy deals with marginalized and vulnerable children among the Digo community. Such kinds of pupils come to the school with a very demanding background.
The school deals directly with Digo community, which is the reason in our new school we are using the Madrassa structures (buildings) for running the daily class sessions.
In fact the neighboring schools have a very rare concern about the Digo people. They live in their midst yet they contribute too little to the development of the community. The community seems to be not their target
Influence
The school is influencing the Digo community because about three quarter(3/4) of the total numbers of the pupils is from the same community. Such truth is not real in neighboring school whose large percent of the pupils about ¾ (75%) come from up-country (other parts of Kenya).
Bright Angels Academy benefits an organizes medical mission regularly. The mission is organized by Bridgeworld International partnering with qualified team of medical professionals from Korea.

“Excellent Education for the Bright Future”
About about 30% are Muslims. About 20% of the parents are low income earners working with beach hotels while others sell fried fish and some coconut fruits. Economically the community is surviving than living.
Almost in every (family) there are about five children. Out of the five children, only one or none is taken to school by their parents. The cause of this is poverty and lack that has stricken the Digo community.
Bright Angels’ academy is unique from the neighboring schools because like our master Jesus Christ, the school deals with the least, last and lost children in the society.
Quite a number of the pupils are orphans, come from a poor family background, or from a split family or a single parent due to death of either parent or divorce or other causes.
